1. Walz awarded for his work on rural economic development
Congressman Tim Walz (D-MN) was presented with the 2010 NADO [National Association of Development Organizations] National Leadership Award today. Congressman Walz was selected based on his outstanding leadership and support of federal policies and programs that support regional and local economic competitiveness initiatives, especially in small metropolitan and rural regions.
2. Bachmann has missed the most votes of all Minnesota Representatives
An analysis by the Minnesota Independent shows that Bachmann has missed more votes than any member of Minnesota’s congressional delegation in the 111th Congress — even after subtracting votes missed when Bachmann left to spend time with an ill family member. Twenty of the 47 remaining votes Bachmann missed occurred on days when the Sixth District Republican had media appearances scheduled.
The fewest number of missed votes? That was Walz.

Walz seems to be a solid rep for his people. While you could read into “outstanding leadership and support of federal policies and programs” as simply being that he brings home tax dollar bacon, I think he does a pretty good job overall.
And Bachmann — well, she’s Bachmann. You either love her or you hate her.
You could read into that as such, if you were exceedingly craven. Tim does a great job of representing me, and the rest of his district.
Bachman is a joke, though I neither love nor hate her. The sixth CD got what they deserved.
Craven? Nah. There is nothing wrong with it, but I’m just saying you aren’t recognized by the National Association of Development Organizations for being a small-government guy. You are recognized by the NADO for scoring funds and legislation for the NADO. I don’t think you can really dispute that.
Any chance that the Minnesota Educators Association congressperson of the year would be someone who didn’t work on teacher union-favorable legislation?
All I’m saying is that Walz appears to be doing a good job representing what really is an independent, swing district. I’m complimenting the guy for god’s sake. I just take these little awards with a grain of salt.

Moron, or liar? You decide.
The nice thing about the Internet is you can find anything you want that backs your ideology. Wow, I wonder if this is true?
“If you look closely at politifact you’ll find that they are an offshoot of the “Saint Petersburg Times”, a very left wing west coast florida news paper. They are so left leaning that they make the top ten in left leaning rags in the country.
Polifact was launched in the 2008 election to give bho cover.”
Why am I not surprised??
I have known Tim Walz for 5 years now. He is as dedicated as they come to serving us here in the 1st CD. There are 5 Republicans vying for the GOP nomination to face off with him in November. That includes Alan Quist!
Quist is Michele Bachmann’s mentor in all things Right Wing Nuttery. Tim Walz has 3 times the workload of Bachmann and he still makes time to work in the District when he is home.
Where’s Bachmann? Jetting off somewhere else other than staying inside the 6th CD, working for her constituents.
