Mitt Romney in his own words*

Mitt Romney wants to raise everybody’s taxes. Also, he hates America. The proof* is right here:

*Accurate according to Mitt Romney’s own standards. According to Mitt Romney’s campaign, in defense of their blatantly dishonest video which took Barack Obama’s words wildly out of context, anything a candidate has said, regardless of any context, is fair game.

In Romney’s video, Obama is quoted as saying “If we keep talking about the economy, we’re going to lose.” The only problem is the context. Here’s what he really said:

Senator McCain’s campaign actually said, and I quote, “if we keep talking about the economy, we’re going to lose.”

In my book, that makes Romney’s video a blatant lie. Romney’s campaign defends it. By Romney’s standards, then, the Think Progress video above is also completely fair and accurate.
