MNGOP party finances reveal their fiscal incompetence

No wonder our state finances are such a disaster. The Republicans in control of the legislature just don’t know how to stay out of debt.

The GOP’s “solution” to our budget problems earlier this year was to pile debt on our schools. All in all, they opted for $1.4 billion in new debt, instead of making millionaires pay their fair share. Combine that with the previous biennium’s school shifts, and it’s a veritable sea of red ink.

But that shouldn’t surprise anyone who’s watched the MNGOP try to handle their own finances. Earlier today, the party’s “Internal Financial Review Committee” revealed that they were at least $1.2 million in debt, and possibly as much as $2 million.

In case you were wondering why the color red is usually associated with Republicans, it’s because of their love of debt.
