When will the rich be asked to sacrifice?

Continuing his strategy of kowtowing to the right in the hopes that they’ll eventually grow to like him, Barack Obama today proposed kneecapping Federal employees:

President Obama will announce a two-year freeze in the wages of federal employees Monday, with the intention of saving $60 billion over the next 10 years….

“This freeze is not to punish federal workers or to disrespect the work that they do,” the White House said in a statement. “It is the first of many actions we will take in the upcoming budget to put our nation on sound fiscal footing — which will ask for some sacrifice from us all.”

“Sacrifice from us all?” Sounds fine, except for one problem. They never do ask for sacrifice from all of us, do they? For some sick reason, politicians only call for sacrifice from the unwashed masses. The rich, on the other hand — those who have received the greatest bounty from this country, and those who have the greatest ability to pay — are never asked for a red cent.
