UPDATED: A Stronger America Minnesota has Major Campaign Violations?

So, remember that last-minute shadow group formed after the final disclosure deadline in order to avoid revealing its donors that flooded Minnesota with anti-Hatch ads over the last week of the Gubernatorial race? Remember how we later learned that Texas billionaire Bob Perry (yes, the same guy who funded Swift Boat Veterans for Truth) gave $500,000 to the group. Well, looks like they may be even sketchier than we thought (which is saying something).

The DFL is having a press conference in 10 minutes (11AM) to announce what are supposedly some severe campaign violations made by the group. We’ll keep you updated on what happens.

UPDATE: The DFL has a Press Release out (below the fold) that highlights several campaign finance violations surrounding the intermingling of funds between the “A Stronger America-MN” group and the parent PAC “A Stronger America” from VA. The release below the fold highlights the developments.

Pawlenty’s Croatian Hall Event Weakly Attended

epawlenty-tm.jpgAn anonymous source:

We snuck into the Pawlenty shindig at The Croatian Hall in South St. Paul last night. A crowd that was less than a third the size of Hatch’s over at 411 Main. All Pawlenty’s people were the Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners (and his campaign staff) - Very few locals.

The Gov. did not look as cocky as usual, the mood was reserved and oddly reminicent of the 1990 Perpich party at the same place.

Sincerest thanks to the dedicated reader who sent us the above…
